Money on Monday No. 8 – 18.2.

18.2. – 20.00h – Top-of-the-Berg Str. 33 – Gipfelkreuz in R 115 – Art School of Straight Up Business
“Okay, everyone. Now, quit pitchin’ around and focus your energy on these three minutes!”
NO GUESTS, NO SAFETY NET. JUST US, THE CRITICAL BOARD OF EMPLOYERS, AND SOME SCHNAPS TO RELIEVE THE TENSION.
Swing your bats for our 8th and last Inning of Money on Monday. And this time all the pressure’s on your side.
Imagine the following scenario:
It’s 9:40am. You have an appointment on the summit at 9:45. Your mouth is dry, your hands tremble, your palms are sweaty. You know you’ll only have 3 minutes to convince the board of your idea, of your work, of YOU.
‘Elevator Pitch’ they called it in college. What do they know!
You know one thing, though: Once the muzak stops, the elevator doors will open with a soft ‘bing’ and you’ll be exposed to the Holy Land Assessment Center.
Grip your cue cards tighter. Baby, we’ll have some fun at this capitalist birthday party!
Join us for an ecstatic last edition of MoM, where the players will be us, where the board will be merciless and where you have no idea what you’ll be talking about but you know that you’ll have to bedazzle the grim ole’ capital if you want to have a chance on the market. What a Schlamassel!
A totally realistic scenario with good chances for a cathartic aftershow celebration is presented to you by
Money on Monday. ‘Cause at the top the air gets thinner.
So keep in mind until magic monday:
The devil comes out pitchin’…

CM CAIZEN

kaizen1Class meet kaizen is a staunchly toyotist attempt to improve class meetings in terms of punch, zest and impact. Said Amazon corporate warrior about kaizen: “we have some Japanese guys around do do this. They´re not nice at all. They´re not consultants but insultants”. Please help yourselves to this attitude and join the debate on the wiki.

Also coming up next term: small edition of NOW show at Kunstwerke in June, 2 workshops on Postdigital Materiality and How to make money or to survive anyway? ( in IAE aka Artistic conditions of labour).

Feedback from a satisfied MoM prosumer, who learned and enjoyed his lesson. Written and delivered in pristine IAE.
Yes its smashing you are proud of your race and home countrymen . But to just blindly bet on a hero cause he was delivered in the same country as you or your mom is just manifest dumb and will often meters leave you separated .
I remember one of my Mexican-American employees Juan would always bet with other Mexican co workers on the Pacquiao fights. Juan would always put $ 100 on Pacquiao and the Mexicans would ever bet on Pacquiao’s Mexican opponent with out any logical system to it what so of all time. You do the math, Juan’s a smart guy. xEOL .2. Do n’t bet on your heroes. Yes we all have our boxing betting heroes to the point of where others may call us the term : “nut hugger”. I am a HUGE Roy Jones Jr sports fan and I will never bet facing him yet now when he’s 40 yrs old and a mere shell of the once unbeatable topnotch man he was previously for his whole life history.
I believed first rate man was going to fly back into the ring against Joe Calzaghe that night and he did show up but just for the actual round unluckily . When you bet on your characters you are again betting blindly with out logic especially when they are way over and above their primes. xEOL .3. Do n’t bet with Teddy Atlas. Yes I do admire and am inspired by the great guru Teddy Atlas. But it is so obvious that he by design always plunks the heavy under dog who usually has no chance in hell deliberately as if to almost assure that the antonym could happen each time . So translation bet on the opposite of what Atlas forebodes .

Money on Monday No. 7 – 11.2.

11.2. – 20.00h – Via Hardenberg 33 – R115 – University of Occupational Competence

A man like a unicorn. Rare. Noble. Swift. And with a mind that’s set on business.

Olaf Bach will be our guest.

Olaf the adventurer studied economics in St. Gallen and wrote his PhD thesis about The Invention of Globalization. He is an international strategic consultant working in Zurich. He teaches classes in Occupational Competence in St. Gallen and most recently tries to fuse economic and artistic thinking as a guest professor at KHB Weißensee.

S: “That River Olaf sho’ sound like a guy who done accomplish a whole lotta things…”

T: “What you talkin’ ’bout?! If that don’t sound like a whole bunch of gibberish, I don’t know what does!”

What does Tucker mean? And why is Shaneyney so impressed?

Do you really understand globalization? Do you know what a strategic consultant does in his job, what occupational competence could be, or how the hell it could work to fuse the mind on the discourse and the mind on the dough?

No clue? Just like S. & T.

But as our curiosity never halts we promise you one thing: We will find answers and they will be relevant for your future endeavors in the field of the manifold markets. Especially since we have a traveller before us who can diffuse equally between seemingly incompatible mindsets. Seemingly incompatible, I say.

So join Olaf and us for the possibly penultimate Money on Monday EVER.

Perfume. Cuff Links. Business. Drafting the Real. Mind on the Dough.

Community. Fusion. Conceptualizing the Future. Creating the Real. Money on Monday.

Meaning. Self-Exploitation. Drafting the Future. Mind on the Discourse.

Kind Regards,

Money on Monday, Your Institute for Applied Futurology.

Money on Monday No. 6 – 4.2.

4.2. – 20.00h – Hardenbergstr. 33 – R115 – UdK (ZDFDPUnileverdK)
––– Pre-MoM-Show from 18.00h at Alte UdK-Bibliothek (R101) –––
Money on Monday Neoliberal Movie Night
Menu
After Dirk Fleischmann’s Meaning-Maximization-Maxime and before Olaf Bach’s Margin-Maximization-Maxime* we’ll have an in-between bridging event trying to tie the two positions together with a greasy careerist wearing striped ties and an unpopular political conviction, two ZDF-“philosophers”, a documentary movie, and some image films.
Sounds like a mess? Will be a mess!
Join us for a night of neoliberal savoir-vivre.
The aperitif will be served by populists and politicians:
From 6pm ZDF-“philosopher” Byung Chul-Han debates with best buddy and co-ZDF-“philosopher” Richard David Precht, as well as with Freidemokrat Christian Lindner about the future of capitalism.
Yawn? Only if you listen to what they’ll say. Wear your best Cologne.
Afterwards, at 8pm and in our familiar setting of R115, we’ll serve main course and dessert:
We’ll screen Unilever image films and possibly Carmen Losmann’s “Work Hard, Play Hard”. And we’ll have dolomite lobster. Yummy.
A good opportunity to sport ladies’ suits and pearls or windsor knots and cuff links.
See you on the neoliberal side.
Money. Monday.

Dirk and Dave

Most Estimated Mondayists,
thank you for the fantastic evening yesterday, we think it was as productive as can be. Your stamina is well appreciated, too.
In the aftermath Dirk “The Business Mind’s Nightmare” Fleischmann sent us an article about the guy with the private banking business he told us about.
The man’s called Dave. Dave!
So let’s bank on Dave, everyone.

Too much world

Do scroll down for timely and relevant content!
Too much world is an idea by Janus – if I may rearticulate  – that there is too much world to fit into reality  so it´s got to be edited down, which is why reality consists of all these jumbled clips and fragments incongruously pasted on top of one another.
Many more interesting ideas coalescing around a few aggregator notions.
Data debt – data bank – data bankruptcy – data as raw material (mining) – data as processed material (algorythm) – data fork – data fridge…data

From medium to environment
medium

Lana Wachowski: Gender is postproduction.
After effect is about animation and thanatoproduction.
aftereffect
Resistance, blockage: between refuse and refusal. Map unplugged.
reistancemy laptop is breathing and helps keep my bed warm: material. data are stored in the arctic.

Money on Monday No. 5 – 28.1.

28.1. – 20.00h – Hardenbergstr. 33 – R115 – UdK (MyMoney/MyBusiness)
Stroke upon stroke, respite, respite, nay, never. History is made, es geht voran.
Shakespeare/Fehlfarben
Keine Atempause after the Reinhold Messner field trip, Monday calls and Monday takes:
Your Rainbow Panorama – Olafur Eliasson
iPod – Apple Inc.
mykiosk – Dirk Fleischmann
In the trail of possessive and personal pronouns surrounding contemporary cultural life our guest Dirk Fleischmann uses the one which fully embodies individual agency.
His works – be it myfashionindustries, mystopshow or myfreerangechickeneggs – all deal with business and can be seen as one pearl after another lined up on a golden string.
And all he started with was a couple of chocolate bars back at Städelschule!
But let Dirk himself pitch it to you:
“Since 1997 I have been creating a business conglomerate. My art inhabits economic forms and sneaks into given capitalist structures. The art projects intend to create financial profit, which I have been continuously re-investing completely. This means the projects themselves create the budget for my next artistic investment. Thus every project is a transformation of the earlier ones.”
A contemporary mixture of Hans in Luck and the dishwasher/millionaire-shtick awaits us, a lucky Hans who made it to the iced-out top with a bag full of agency.
Come on, come in, we’ll learn how to force our luck and we’ll finally talk about money again.
Money. As in Money on Monday
